I figured out tonight what my teachers really meant when they told me that I would need algebra when I got older. It wasn’t because they thought I would get a job where I needed to be able to simplify complex expressions. And it wasn’t that I would need to be able to calculate line slopes in real life. No, they told me that I needed algebra because they knew that one day I would have to teach my own children the ins and outs of variables.

Thus algebra has become viral. Propagating within our species from one generation to the next simply because we need to know it so our children can know it so that their children can know it.

This smells of a conspiracy.

Speaking at the NRA’s annual convention Saturday, Nugent said each NRA member should try to enroll 10 new members over the next year and associate only with other members.

“Remember the Alamo! Shoot ‘em!” he screamed to applause. “To show you how radical I am, I want carjackers dead. I want rapists dead. I want burglars dead. I want child molesters dead. The cable guy came today. I made him run a cable all the way around the house. I don’t think he was very happy with me. Sorry cable guy.

Long story short. DSL sucks (I’ll write more about it once the saga is complete), cable kicks ass, I’m back on-line.

Looks like the DSL line is going to fall through due to incompetence by the provider. Cable Internet hook-up will be here on Saturday. ^_^
