Somebody took my weekend.

February 27th, 2005

God dammit, it’s Sunday night and I haven’t done any of the things that I wanted/needed to do this weekend. Violet and I spent the vast majority of the time planning, designing, and supervising the major changes the landlord wanted in the front yard. And I mean major changes, large sections of grass were removed, stepping stones were put in, and well over 140 grown plants were planted (this doesn’t even count the 600+ bulbs that are still in the garage). It looks amazing (pictures soon) but it took tons of time (Lady V and I didn’t do any of the planting (thank the gods)) and kept us from cleaning house, getting ready for the next week, etc.

A quick scan of my feeds reveals nothing all that interesting…except this. Untraceable blogs, interesting idea, but if it’s untraceable does that limit it’s effectiveness as an anti-tyranny tool? Of course a tool that goes unused (or is unable/illegal to be used as the case may be) is as useless as that whose effects are unseen or considered unreliable…

Sorry, kind of thinking out loud there. What were we talking about?

Trying so hard

February 26th, 2005

Crap…it’s really late and I haven’t posted anything yet. I promised myself that I would so I’ll find something.

I have a couple of things, ideas really, that I want to flesh out here but I’m too tired for that right now so here’s a couple links.

  • Super Mario Bros. in Post-It&reg – The pictures they took of this thing really suck but it’s just so damn cool that I’ll forgive them. This kind of project reminds me of the killer pranks they play at MIT.
  • Tiki Storage – a USB storage device enclosed in a Tiki god statue. It even comes with a USB cable that makes his eyes light up.

That’s all I can find right now. One of these days I really need to clean up my OneNote folders.

That’s a lot of music.

February 24th, 2005

While listening to some OC Remix stuff this morning I noticed the following informational display in iTunes.

Unless I’m mistaken, I have nearly a full month of audio tracks on this computer. Sweet!

How did you come to that conclusion?

February 24th, 2005

I was over at Best Buy’s site this morning looking at TV’s when I decided to see if they had Resident Evil 4 in stock. So I typed “Resident Evil 4″ exactly as I have it written here and received the following results.

Now RE:Outbreak I understand because it’s at the very least RE but Kirby? I supposed it does have the word “nightmare” in the title.

Morning Notes

February 8th, 2005

Still getting settled in at the new house. The computer is still sitting above my head as we speak, mostly due my inability to find an antenna stand for it so that I can move it below the desk and leave the wireless antenna where it is.

We had a somewhat major catastrophe yesterday right around bedtime. The glass shelf in our china cabinet decided that it was going to break for no reason and sent our nice glassware flying. It took us less than an hour to clean it up but Violet was in tears.

It was a rough night.
