i guess this entry is directed more at my sister because the rest of you won’t know what the hell i’m talking about.
i got a wild hair up my ass a couple days ago and decided to hunt the model A down. i’m hoping to get it back in the family (if i can find it) and until then i’ll be kicking some ass if it hasn’t been taken care of.
in other news, i’m taking tai chi at the college. it brings back memories of us forming an awkward group to practice the movements in the livingroom at the old house, haha

Finally got the desk and computer assembled yesterday and was able to find an open wireless network in the neighborhood. The signal is pretty week but it’ll work for a while. We still have gobs of unpacking to do but managed to find some semblance of order over the weekend. I’ll post pictures soon.

Saw this in a couple of places just now. It’s a list of people who have been fired/fined/disciplined for blogging.

Sometimes I read things and it never occurs to me to blog it. This is one of those things.

I find Hugh to be immensely entertaining and inspiration. He’s one of the first places I go when I run in to a block.

I’ve been asked by several important people who will remain nameless to come up with some predictions for the coming year. I always like to get a feel for the year ahead before I focus my razor sharp intellect on my predictions so please excuse my lateness.
- Microsoft will finally unveil a black project that they have been working on for the past several years. Codenamed “Mind Server,” this new product will allow the user to have their consciousness completely and permanently transferred to the Internet. Cost for the transfer will be in the range of 1 million dollars with a $19.95/month access fee that will be automatically charged to your credit card.
Microsoft’s own Robert Scoble will be the first volunteer for the beta of this service but will be highly disappointed when he finds he is unable to install NewsGator on himself.
Later in the year Apple will introduce the “iMeld” to compete with Microsoft. The service will be essentially the same but will cost more and come in five different colors.
- Spam in all of its various forms will continue to be a major problem. That is until Lycos Europe introduces a new product that uses the distributed processing of the Internet in the form of a screen saver to control semi-sentient assassin robots to hunt down and kill spammers. This controversial move will be decried the world over but secretly people will love the idea. Especially if they get those damn comment spammers.
- Adam Curry will continue to not shut the hell up about podcasting.
- Doc Searls will finally upgrade the IT Garage to the IT Abandoned Warehouse.
- Millions of casual Internet users will hear about BloggerCon for the first time after which they will collectively exclaim, “What the hell? You geeks really need to get a fucking life!”
- Rory Blyth’s head will explode during an MSDN presentation after which he’ll write up something really funny for his blog.
- I will try to explain what a blog is to several thousand more people this year and will fail miserably more than 80% of the time.
And there you have it. I only hope that these few nuggets will help you to make informed decisions throughout the year. Enjoy. ^_^

P.S. I am going to find every single comment spammer and throttle them with their own Ethernet cables.
